Earth Week Preparation
And then there was three...Astrid, Leah and Chelsea were the only ones to join me down here in the library basement for today's activities. Girl Power!
While munching on delicious rice cakes and apples we discussed an important day coming up next week: Earth Day! All next week the library will be incorporating eco-friendly activities into all children's programming. So, we decided to get a bit of a headstart and brainstorm some ideas for what to do.
The idea we decided on was to write a commercial about a new environmentally friendly car! We got started on writing and brainstorming ideas for the commercial, and did a bit of improvisation acting it out. We still need to work out some kinks and practice it a bit more before it's ready to be filmed, but otherwise, we got a really good start to it!

| Our amazing script. So proud! |
After working hard on our commercial and getting what we needed to get done, we decided to finish off with playing our favourite drama game, Tableaux. One person is picked to inspect each person that is frozen in a pose of choice. Then that person leaves the room, allowing the others to change one thing in their pose. The person comes back into the room and then must inspect each person again to figure out what they have changed about their pose. This game is a lot of fun, but definately requires a lot of concentration!
Even with only three people, we are still able to have a lot of fun here in the library basement. You never know what we'll come up with.
Stay tuned to watch our new Earth day commercial!

Film bit from the Daily Disasters News Team
Small group today, we only had four people attend: Leah, Astrid, Emily and Chelsea, but that didn't stop us from having some fun!
Astrid and Leah took a little bit of time to practice their interview before having it recorded. I must say that this one makes me laugh. Chelsea and Emily acted as directors and offered great ideas for them to incorporate into the scene. We finished the day off by playing some Drama games, it can't get any better than that!
So without further ado, here are Astrid and Leah, or should I say Sally Barbara Smith and Miss Athena. Don't forget to comment below and tell us your thoughts on their interview.
Stay tuned for more coming up!
